Loudspeaker System

Harman Kardon GLA-55 2.0 speakers have a sculpted, gemlike appearance. The GLA-55 ("glass"-- get it?) speakers are certainly conversation pieces, and they're made of the same material as bulletproof glass. But something to consider of course is whether or not you're going to pay the $1K for them...how well do these speakers sound?

Born over 50 years apart...can you tell who's who? Little 5 makes you do crazy things. Apparently, I felt the need to look like Ray Charles.

I can't sing well or finish a song on the piano...and I can see. I envy Ray Charles' accomplishments. This singer-songwriter's final public appearance was five years ago today (April 30, 2004) where he dedicated his music studio as a historical landmark in Los Angeles.

Flight of the Conchords

After watching the previous songs, you probably want to see more. I don't blame you. Flight of the Conchords is definitely a new favorite of mine, at least in the top 3. Bret McKenzie and Germaine Clement make up this New Zealand comedy duo. Their first television appearance was back in 2000, and their popularity has increased ever since. "The Humans Are Dead," "Most Beautiful Girl" and "She's So Hot Boom" are a few others you need to check out...you won't regret it.

The IT Crowd

I was introduced to The IT Crowd a few months ago. I wish I'd heard about it sooner. This British sitcom began in 2006 and its fourth season comes out this year. The IT Crowd is set in a fictitious corporation in central London. Two geeky technicians, Moss and Roy, are joined by Jen, who is rather nontechnical. The trio bring about ludicrousness as they struggle to handle practical tasks, like using a fire extinguisher for example. You can check out most of the episodes on YouTube, but here's a few clips for your enjoyment.

Eddie Izzard

Eddie Izzard is an Emmy Award-winning British stand-up comedian, and he's definitely one of my favorites. Izzard is also an actor and has appeared in Ocean's Eleven, Ocean's Twelve, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Across the Universe, and Valkyrie, to name a few. Eddie Izzard is, in fact, a cross-dresser and considers himself an "executive transvestite," fancying women. If you haven't seen any of his stand-up performances, here's a taste.
